The Frame & I has been framing your memories since 1984!
Come to our party on Friday, September 27th, from 6-8 pm for cake, beverages, and live music!
We can’t believe it, but we’ve been framing your memories for 40 years now! The Frame & I opened its doors in 1984 at 229 W. Gurley Street in beautiful downtown Prescott. A lot has changed in 40 years! We have remodeled our gallery and design counters to better serve our clients. Our selection of frames has grown! We love having a variety of frame options to match the interests of our community. Time changes all things, but one thing remains the same: we are a team of artists and craftspeople that appreciate creativity and quality! Let us design a framing project unique to your artwork and home. Tell us your story and we will bring it to life!
We love preserving your precious items by framing your memories in a custom tailored picture frame. Everything from your family heirlooms, military medals, or sports awards, we can present those in a picture frame to be enjoyed on your wall. Here are a few examples of projects we’ve made, along with a little story about each.
Custom Framing WWII Medals
These World War II medals deserve a place of honor! For many years, these military medals were tucked away in a drawer. A daughter asked about these “lost” military medals at her parents house during a visit. She asked if she could honor her grandfather and his service by framing them.
We chose a blue/gray linen mat to set off all of the colors in the medals, then hand-stitched the medals to the linen board taking care to preserve them. Glues or adhesives were not used in any way to attach the medals. Next, the gold fillets added a touch elegance and importance to the display. Since a photo of the grandfather was hard to find, we used an image of the battleship he served on as a way to tell the story. The piece is framed with a rich warm tone olive wood frame to add a timeless feeling to the project. We used Museum glass for UV protection and the clarity. Now, these medals are given a place of reverence and memory for the family of this serviceman!
Marathon Medals Shadowbox
Can you put all these years of training and running together in a stunning display? Yes, we can! Our customer came in with a box full of marathon medals, an award, and a few photos. It was our challenge to create a pleasing arrangement to commemorate all of this hard work. We came up with a way to vary the length of ribbons showing to create an arch shape that would allow room for the certificate and photos below. The matting is a medium gray suede to allow all colors to stand out and trimmed with a bottom mat in gold to bring out the unify the colors in the medals. We chose a decorative black frame that conveys movement. The objects are protected behind UV filtering Museum Glass. We love the variety of colors and how well a story was created in this amazing custom framing project.
Remembering those special pets in our lives!
Framing memorial projects is a wonderful way to tell a story! These precious pets were a big part of our customer’s life, and they wanted a way to remember them. We chose a linen mat to match the gray color of the cats. Openings were cut for the pawprints, the photos were floated and spaced away from the linen to create dimension. The frame was a perfect match to bring out the pawprints. Needless to say, our customer was pleased with the results.
