Every so often something really cool comes along, and we have the perfect frame for it! We’ve been wanting to use this dragon motif frame for a long time. In comes our client with a dynamic sea dragon painted on silk… The results are awesome! Could this dragon-themed picture frame be any more perfect? Our framers chose gold, black and red to bring out the lightening bolts, eyes and mouth of the dragon.
Look closely and you’ll see, the frame itself has dragons all over it. They look nearly identical to the one in the painting! Even down to the whiskers… Woah. We HAD to frame it this way. Lucky for us, our client thought so too!
We’re pretty sure it’s a Japanese dragon because of its association with wind, storms and water. Also the three toes are a giveaway…. Where do YOU think this dragon comes from?
Look! The frame has little dragons coiling all over it. Waves, flames, and yin/yang complete the design. Could this dragon-themed frame be any more perfect?
As always the Art Glass UV 99 makes the work really shine, because the glass doesn’t! We recommend UV filtering glass on anything worth keeping, because it provides protection from fading. A painting on silk like this one is especially vulnerable to UV light damage and other environmental factors… a good frame will protect the painting for hundreds of years. Our framers did an awesome job on this one!
