Every month we’re honored to frame the Art Student of the Month’s work for our local grade schools. The student gets to keep this frame in recognition of their talent! We display it in our gallery window in downtown Prescott, AZ. for a limited time. Hopefully you were lucky enough to see it in person. If you didn’t see it at our gallery, check it out! It’s the Art Student of the Month from Taylor Hicks Elementary, Prescott!
This artwork is bold, colorful and graphic. Oil pastel on black paper was used to create this colorful and dramatic look. Russell decided it needed a one-of-a-kind mat that really played to the art’s features, so he incorporated a hand-cut checkerboard border. We think this frame and mat plays up the design elements in the art superbly!
The details are where it’s at – each little checker was cut out by hand and inlaid onto the mat. Alternating white bevels give a little sparkle here and there.
Our local art students and instructors are so talented! We’re happy to be a part of what they do. We feel by supporting student artists we’re encouraging a future generation of graphic designers, animators, fine artists, modelers, set designers, character creators, fashion designers…
It’s about the arts and young people’s hearts… Big kudos to the students and teachers who pour their talent into everything they do, and THANK YOU for letting us frame these for you!
